October’s Athlete Of The Month

Time to highlight one of our spectacular athletes! What makes up an Athlete of the Month? Not RX’ing every workout or lifting the most weight. This athlete exhibits consistency and a hard work mentality. Every time they come to the gym they have a good attitude and give their all. This person is also welcoming of others, helping make H Dub the best community there is. Each month we choose a different athlete and post some fun facts about them to help y’all get to know them better!

Give it up for Eli Dean! This man has the muscles of Arnold and the brain of Einstein. If he isn’t “nerding” out on how to get fit you can probably finding him crushing it as a husband, father and gamer. He is all smiles until there is a large weight staring at him waiting to be bench pressed. Learn more about Jason in his questionnaire below:

Nashville TN

30yrs old

Solutions Engineer (tech sales)

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I love fitness, the outdoors and tech. Nashville native. Great day looks like crushing a workout, eating a big brunch with the crew, little 4 wheeling/ hiking with the fam, play a few video games and crash before 10pm.

What were your goals when you started training?

To get big. I started body building and it was all about how big and strong could I get, as quickly as possible.

How long have you been at H Dub and how did you get into it?

A little over 3 years now. My wife, the mean Dean, got me into it.

What is your favorite/least favorite thing we do in training?

I love the community, so my favorite workouts are the partner met cons or something for time where everyone gets the juice and wants to compete.

Least fav- rope climbs.

How has H Dub positively affected you?

In so many ways. The friendships have grown into our “gym fam”. These are our people and I’m so thankful for H Dub because without it, we wouldn’t have this awesome community. My fitness and overall health has gotten exponentially better. I couldn’t run through an airport with 50 bags, and not get winded, if it weren’t for the dub.

What advice do you have for newcomers?

Don’t be shy. The people here are truly some of the coolest, most welcoming people I’ve ever met. Regardless of your fitness level- you have an opportunity to get better in each class. Make the most of the 1 hour while you’re there. Adhere to the rule posted out front- you don’t have to be working out to hang out.

What is something no one at the gym knows about you?

I easily have 120+ days (measured by 24 hour increments) sunk into World of Warcraft

Who are 3 people you would have a meal or drink with dead or alive?

Arnold Schwarzenegger
Stephen Hawking
Robert Kennedy (the one who hasn’t been killed.. yet)

If you had an intro song when you walk into the gym what would it be.

Only on bench press day- Hail to the King by Avenged Sevenfold.

Otherwise, Allison and Lamp gunna kick my ass on every other workout.

Favorite Sport?
Basketball

If you could have one super power what would it be?

Teleportation

What is your favorite thing to eat?

Steak
