April's Athlete of the Month

Time to highlight one of our spectacular athletes! What makes up an Athlete of the Month? Not RX’ing every workout or lifting the most weight. This athlete exhibits consistency and a hard work mentality. Every time they come to the gym they have a good attitude and give their all. This person is also welcoming of others, helping make CFHD the best community there is. Each month we choose a different athlete and post some fun facts about them to help y’all get to know them better.

Congrats are in order for Eric. You are officially our first "at home" AOTM! Long before the order to stay at home, Eric was killing it in the gym and he continues to do so with our home workouts. Outside of his commitment to fitness, he is a great member of our community. He always shows kindness to new comers and brings good vibes always, even in those early morning classes. Not to mention, he's always down for a good time, which we love! Keep killing it Eric. We are lucky to have you!

Name: Eric Kimmet Hometown: New Riegel, Ohio Age: 29 Occupation: Process improvement manger at Tractor Supply Co. Tell us a little bit about yourself: I'm originally from a small village in Ohio where I graduated with 35 people. I'm the youngest of 5 kids. I went to The Ohio State University for Industrial Engineering. I've lived in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. Outside of the Buckeyes I'm a big Cleveland sports fan and I lived in Cleveland when the Cavs came back from down 3-1 in the NBA Finals to the Warriors to win the first Cleveland sports title in 52 years. What were your goals when you started CrossFit? Just improve my functional fitness and do more Olympic lifts How long have you been doing CrossFit and how did you get into it? 3 Years in May, my brother and sisters had been doing CrossFit and I was getting tired of the day to day gym experience so I wanted to give CrossFit a try. What is your favorite/least favorite thing we do in CrossFit? My favorite thing is probably anything gymnastics, more specifically hand stand push ups. My least favorite thing is wallballs, anytime they're in a workout I'm upset. How has CrossFit H Dub positively affected you? Moving down to Nashville and not knowing anyone, H Dub really treats you like a family and welcomes you with open arms. I've been to a lot of CrossFit gyms and you can tell the ones who really care vs the ones that don't put in a ton of effort. Trey and Lacee and all the coaches put in the extra effort to make sure that you're comfortable with whatever the workout is as well as making it fun and very community driven. What advice do you have for newcomers? Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses in CrossFit and it's always a work in progress. You're never a finished product and will always have areas you can improve so if your struggling or don't think you'll ever be able to do something know that everyone else has had that same struggle and just put in your best effort. What is something no one at the gym knows about you? In High School I did a rendition of Who's on First for our schools Club Show and could perform both parts on my own. Who are 3 people you would have a meal or drink with dead or alive? Bert Kreischer, Urban Meyer, Teddy Roosevelt If you had an intro song when you walk into the gym what would it be? High Hopes - Panic! at the Disco Favorite Sport? To play: Basketball. To watch: Football If you could have one super power what would it be? To have super strethcy/extending limbs What is your favorite cheat meal? Chicken Chimichanga, chips and queso and an Oreo Blizzard with Peanut Butter
