October's Athlete of the Month
Time to highlight one of our spectacular athletes! What makes up an Athlete of the Month? Not RX’ing every workout or lifting the most weight. This athlete exhibits consistency and a hard work mentality. Every time they come to the gym they have a good attitude and give their all. This person is also welcoming of others, helping make CFHD the best community there is. Each month we choose a different athlete and post some fun facts about them to help y’all get to know them better.
Congratulations to Jacob Lampley! This guy is one of the nicest humans we have met, from his genuine love for the gym to his kindness to everyone that walks through the door. His consistency and hard work is definitely admirable, but even more so are the vibes he brings to the H Dub family. He's always cracking jokes and bringing a smile to class, even during the worst of workouts. We are grateful to have you, Jacob!
Name: Jacob Lampley Hometown: Kingston Springs, TN Age: 28 Occupation: Water Resources Engineer Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I'm Jacob. Born and raised 20 minutes west of Nashville. I got a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. GO VOLS! My wife, Kala, and I got married in March 2019. We've been together for over 14 years now. I love sports and spending time outdoors. What were your goals when you started training?
I wanted to be healthy and fit from head to toe. I had lost mobility and strength in several areas over the years, and I was tired of not feeling my best. I was also looking for a fun gym community. How long have you been at H Dub and how did you get into it?
I have been at H Dub for 10 months. My friend brought me to a "bring a friend" workout one Saturday a couple years ago, and I knew before I left that day I would come back and join this gym. What is your favorite/least favorite thing we do in training?
Favorite: Anything gymnastics
Least favorite: Overhead squats
How has H Dub positively affected you?
H Dub has done so much for me physically and mentally. After 10 months, I am in WAY better shape than when I first started. The community is incredible. Working out here doesn't feel like a chore. It is easily the best part of my day. What advice do you have for newcomers?
Show up. Push yourself. Be patient. What is something no one at the gym knows about you?
