January's Athlete Of The Month
Time to highlight one of our spectacular athletes! What makes up an Athlete of the Month? Not RX’ing every workout or lifting the most weight. This athlete exhibits consistency and a hard work mentality. Every time they come to the gym they have a good attitude and give their all. This person is also welcoming of others, helping make H Dub the best community there is. Each month we choose a different athlete and post some fun facts about them to help y’all get to know them better!
Congrats Reese Lara! We couldn't think of anyone better to start 2023 as Athlete of the Month. Reese is one of those give you the shirt off his back kind of guys, always willing to lend a helping hand. He is fitness is almost as amazing as his sense of humor. Even during some of the worst workouts, he can find a way to crack a joke and keep the morale of those around him up. Did we also mention dude is strong AND moves well. We all strive to have some Olympic Lifts that look like Mr. Lara's. Check out more about Reese below:
Registered Nurse at Skyline Medical Center
moved to Nashville in 2021, done CrossFit for 4 years, played baseball/football through high school and baseball in college
goals: first the lose weight, then to compete in CrossFit, and now to stay active and have fun!
been at HDub since 2021 because I met Trey at a competition before I even lived here and instantly connected through fitness and coming from the same areas growing up!
favorite thing: constantly varied, never gets boring around here
least favorite: tempo work…
advice for newcomers: just jump in with 2 feet. Moderation is overrated so give it your all and if you fail, fail with people that will pick you back up.
something no one knows about me: I’m actually still in school while working to get my Masters degree in education so I can teach nursing school one day
