June's Athlete Of The Month
Time to highlight one of our spectacular athletes! What makes up an Athlete of the Month? Not RX’ing every workout or lifting the most weight. This athlete exhibits consistency and a hard work mentality. Every time they come to the gym they have a good attitude and give their all. This person is also welcoming of others, helping make H Dub the best community there is. Each month we choose a different athlete and post some fun facts about them to help y’all get to know them better!
Give it up for Jonathan Lutz! This guy always has the biggest smile on his face. He is a personal trainer in Nashville and sought out H Dub trying to learn more/ get out of his comfort zone. He is a fast learner and his athletic back ground in College Football has shows when it comes to his abilities. This dude works hard and has fun doing it. His motto is "Be A Good Person" and he lives it day in and day out!

Tell us a little bit about yourself:
What up! Not much to write home about with me. I am a pretty boring person in all honesty. I spend most of my time working on building my business, educating, and all things growth (I love this). I have a passion for helping others and bringing positivity/perspective to their lives. Really I am just a dude who loves health/fitness/growth and wants to share the joy it brings to my life.
What were your goals when you started training?
I wanted to do something with others. I was tired of working out alone doing all the normal things I was doing. I wanted to learn from a different side of the fitness realm and do something that would allow me to be somewhat competitive with a community.
How long have you been at H Dub and how did you get into it?
I have been coming for I believe around 4 months. I found H dub by recommendation of a friend who said it was the place to be (I second that). I was looking for a community to join after moving to Nashville and glad I found HDub!
What is your favorite/least favorite thing we do in training?
My favorite thing we do in training is definitely anything new to me that requires some skills (gymnastics movements specifically). My least favorite thing is most definitely any workout that includes a bike, I prefer anything other than that.
How has H Dub positively affected you?
One of the biggest impacts H Dub has had on me is learning about different training styles, programming, and coaching techniques (I love to pay a ton of attention to and learn from this stuff). Beyond that though I would say I appreciate more than anything the relationships I’ve built… truly amazing people at HDUB! The community is unmatched and I needed that as a newer resident to Nashville.
What advice do you have for newcomers?
Ask more questions than you think are needed. The coaching at H Dub is top tier. Don’t feel ashamed to ask questions. I do it ALL the time and I am a trainer/coach myself (and a pretty dang good one if I do say so myself lol), but there’s always things we need help with. You will benefit so much more and get more results if you ask more questions! Don’t limit yourself by not asking questions
What is something no one at the gym knows about you?
I skipped my high school prom to train for college football. (Big time loser type stuff lol)
Who are 3 people you would have a meal or drink with dead or alive?
Definitely my grandpa who passed away a few years ago. Tim Tebow would be one I’d love to talk to. And I think I’d finish with a pastor named Craig Groeschel.
If you had an intro song when you walk into the gym what would it be.
The Stroke by Billy Squier
This song is almost the perfect intro song. Good vibes and energy with that one.
Favorite Sport?
Favorite to play is definitely basketball at this point but football is hands down the best sport on the planet!
If you could have one super power what would it be?
At this point I would have to say flying. Gas prices have me hurting and I need that quick transportation around this city! It ain’t no joke out there! Also I could travel a lot more lol
What is your favorite thing to eat?
This one’s tough because I am a foodie at heart but if I had to choose one food it would be Asian Cuisine. Never let’s me down.
