November's Athlete Of The Month
Time to highlight one of our spectacular athletes! What makes up an Athlete of the Month? Not RX’ing every workout or lifting the most weight. This athlete exhibits consistency and a hard work mentality. Every time they come to the gym they have a good attitude and give their all. This person is also welcoming of others, helping make H Dub the best community there is. Each month we choose a different athlete and post some fun facts about them to help y’all get to know them better!
Congrats goes out to Brenden Fraine! This guy joined this past summer and dove in head first. An eager learner, he is always ready to work on developing a new skill. This is why he joined Weightlfiting 101 soon after Foundations. Rather than shying away from a challenge, he leans in to make improvements. Learn more about Brenden below:
Name: Brenden Fraine
Hometown: Springfield, TN
Occupation: Investment Analyst
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I recently graduated from Tennessee Tech University with a degree in finance. I then moved downtown to start a career in investments. Nashville has been a great fit for me so far and given me lots to do. In my free time, I love traveling, trying new restaurants, finding things to do outdoors, and spoiling my two dogs.
What were your goals when you started training?
I wanted to increase my overall fitness, be able to lift more, build muscle, and maintain my health.
How long have you been at H Dub and how did you get into it?
I joined this past June, so almost five months. I had an interest in CrossFit for a while but never made the commitment to start. When I moved to Nashville, I decided it was now or never. I searched for CrossFit gyms online and found H Dub. After meeting with Trey, I knew it was a good fit for me and have been happy I joined ever since.
What is your favorite/least favorite thing we do in training?
My favorite thing we do is bench press but my favorite program has been the weightlifting class. My least favorite is a solid tie between wall-balls and death by sprints.
How has H Dub positively affected you?
H Dub has given me a consistent place to come each day no matter what kind of day I’ve had. I know when I come, I can have a good workout, clear my head, and leave feeling recharged. It has challenged me, helped me be more fit, and increased my confidence.
What advice do you have for newcomers?
Don’t feel stressed out if you get lost in a workout or don’t know what a movement is. It may not seem like it at first, but you will quickly get the hang of things.
What is something no one at the gym knows about you?
I can play the piano.
Who are 3 people you would have a meal or drink with dead or alive?
Warren Buffet, Taylor Swift, and Neil Armstrong
If you could have one super power what would it be?
The ability to fly.
What is your favorite thing to eat?
Broccoli in any form or fashion.
